Tuesday evening
Putting this up here so that folks who are having browser issues can see it.
Looks to me like Disqus is finally working with some flavors of Internet Explorer. I have tried it with:
IEv10 native
IEv10 in IE9 / IE9 mode
IEv10 in IE8 / IE8 mode
IEv9 native
IEv9 in IE8 / IE8 mode
I no longer have a native IEv8 to test with.
If you don't have Windows Automatic Update turned on, your browser is probably out of date. This could make a difference too. I'm running latest IE9 and 10.
Note that all but native IEv10 seem really slow. The comments might not load at all, or multiple refreshes (F5) or Disqus reloads via their button might need to be done.
The only problem I have noticed with Firefox or Chrome is that sometimes a refresh or 2 will be needed to load the comments. I think this is just Disqus being slow, not a problem with the browser.
Will update this post if needed ... email me at gmail if you can't talk to us any other way.

Thursday morning
Despite the afternoon bounce, there was some real weakness in the markets yesterday. On the plus side, there were some good earnings reports and there is a large Fed POMO operation today. Be careful out there.

Wednesday evening
The airlines that reported today were generally strong even though the transportation sector finished in the red and was down a greater percentage than any other major index.
Technology has several big winners tonight and it looks like the futures will open higher this evening. Among the better moves after hours are BIDU FFIV QCOM FB AKAM TQNT and CTXS.

Monday afternoon ... Bill, how stubborn are you???
HLF Daily Chart (11:08 AM) |
Looking at the chart I don't think there is much resistance from here to the top of the box. The drop in April 2012 was long ago and it was fast. Anyone of size would likely have sold during the May '12 - Aug '12 recovery. All of that was well before the December announcement (or should I say "attack") by Mr. Ackman and should have little to do with trading from here forward.

Thursday evening
An old Indian Chief was asked by a white U.S. government official, “You have observed the white man for 90 years. You’ve seen his wars and his technological advances. You’ve seen his progress, and the damage he’s done.”
The Chief nodded in agreement.
The official continued, “Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?”
The Chief stared at the government official and then replied.
“When white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, medicine man free, Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex.”
Then the Chief leaned back and smiled, “Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.”

With the market looking like it will have a red day perhaps it's a good time to watch and plan ...
Here is one I'm looking at and planning for a long entry. I want to see a pull back to somewhere around the white line and buy the bounce. It could be a little lower, maybe a bounce from 20 or the 20 day or the 50 day sma but it should find support somewhere on that path.
Note: You can see my chart tabs at the top. These are the time frames I like to check. I used to have a weekly tab but I have not rebuilt it yet. Each of the tabs has different indicators.

Some consolidation today would be welcome. There is underlying strength if you look at Advance/Decline (3593/2365) New High/New Low 727/37.

Gator's Chart of the Day: WETF |
When the stock opened higher on Monday I entered with a half position and a tight stop. Yesterday I added and when the stock held above the 50 day for the requisite 15+ minutes I generally insist on. Now I'm ready for a final add if/when the stock moves above the last arrow on volume or if it holds above 12.50 even if the volume is a bit light. Speaking of volume, it has not been heavy but the last 3 trading days have seen higher levels each day and the close has been higher than the open. I like that. I hope to ride to a test of the May high.
