If the market closes green today it will be 16 consecutive Tuesdays that it has accomplished this feat.  I heard on bubblevision that this has never happened before ... ever.  Now if we can get a few more pets shopping online we can really kick this economy into a higher gear.

Apple is definitely behaving better for the longs.  Notice the tall red volume bars 4/17-19 and the higher close on 4/19.  Since then 5 of 6 days have been up and volume on Friday and today was above average.  The 50 day is still resistance. Notice the high of the day was 433.62 with the 50 day at 433.45.  The price backed off the high made during lunch and never reached it again.  The last 15 minutes today saw some selling.  Tomorrow should be interesting.

I'm watching an old favorite.  Probably not a buy today.  I'd like to see it fill the gap (52.85) or maybe come all the way down to the 50 day (51.04 now but it will be a little higher next week.  It's a math thing.)

If the stock pauses around 53 I would likely take a small bite (1/4 position) and add on strength or add if it falls to the 50 day and then bounces.  The 50 day would then be the stop.

There are several earnings surprises tonight and some of our bloggers should see nice gains.  A couple of things are a mystery to me. (Gator, you're clueless on a lot more than a couple of things.)  If PCs are dead why does WDC keep knocking it out of the park? If smart phones and tablets are still selling like crazy as they crush desk tops why as QCOM not doing better?  If a man makes a statement in the woods and there is no woman there to hear it is he still wrong?

If you needed another hint that the uptrend has ended (for now) IBM and GOOG told you today.  Will there be up days and stocks that continue higher?  Of course. Just don't expect the weak ones to do anything but mess on themselves for the near term.

The Green Jacket

It's awarded to the winner and The Masters was the first tournament to so honor the top player. Many tournaments have copied this.  An interesting fact is that only the reigning champion is permitted to wear the jacket away from the club.  All others leave their's in the cedar locker for safe keeping.

They will hit their ceremonial tee shots a little before 8:00 AM EDT.  This is the only tournament on the PGA or European tours that has such a tradition.  Gary holds the record for most appearances in The Masters with 52.  His nickname is The Black Knight because throughout his career he nearly always dressed in black.

The market is getting a little crazy here.  The bears are being trampled and the VIX is near multi-year lows.  If you're long you might consider taking some profits or at least tightening stops on part of your positions.

It was a strange day in the market with much talk of stocks halted (FSLR multiple times) and all-time highs reached for the DJIA.  Selling into the close may have been a good move but it may still be too early ... not as early as the French but early none the less.

One think is certain.  There is at least one engagement manager that used to work for KPMG who is up $%&# creek without a paddle.

Lots of pain today.  Shorts that covered JCP last night and anyone that has money with Bill Ackman.  Pain to come for the KPMG engagement ex-employee.  I wouldn't want to be that guy.
