Weekend Thread

China markets are closed from October 1 thru October 7 for it's National Day holiday

•Keep this on your radars. This is notable as there are plenty of people who believe markets would be able to put together a rally if it were not for China.

•Now, it is not like the Chinese issues go away just because they are closed. But there is the potential for a change in the environment if market participants are not coming to their desks int he morning being greeted by a sea of red.

•The other item of interest here is that the PBoC tends to provide an influx of liquidity into the markets due to the lengthy closure.

•So these are some factors to keep in mind as we head into the end of the quarter. Now, we could be looking at a government shutdown at that same time. This should not be a big issue as we can easily shut down for a few days and the economy would not miss a beat. It could mean that the Friday Jobs number is delayed though so keep that in mind.
